BONE MARROW DONATION NEEDED by Anne Devins Thompson '58
Michael John (Spike) Thompson is our 40 year old son who lives in Florida with his wife of 12 years and their 3 ½ year old daughter. Spike has been diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), probably induced by treatment given for a previous cancer. MDS transforms to acute myelogenous leukemia, an aggressive, fatal disease. Although new drugs may prolong his life up to 18 to 24 months, a bone marrow transplant will CURE him.

St. Ursula Academy has hired Judy O’Donnell to succeed Principal Frances R. Romweber when she retires at the end of the 2008-09 school year.
